Transform Your Skin with VI Peels

contact us

Are you struggling with fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture, hyperpigmentation, and other skin concerns? A VI Peel at Birmingham Cosmetic Surgery may be just the treatment you’ve been looking for. But what exactly is it? Let’s take a look at this innovative treatment and how it can improve the look and feel of your skin.

What Is A VI Peel?

A Vitality Institute (VI) Peel is a minimally-invasive, medium-level chemical peel that is used to improve many different skin concerns, including uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, and enlarged pores. It works on all skin types and skin tones and requires very little downtime.

VI Peel Treatment

A VI Peel involves applying a blend of ingredients that will break down the top level of skin and reveal a more radiant complexion underneath.

The whole process takes about 30 minutes and starts with your skin specialist cleansing your skin to remove any dead skin cells and excess oil. From there, the VI Peel solution will be applied. It is made up of TCA (trichloroacetic acid), retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and vitamin C.

Once the solution is applied, you can go about your daily routine. About 4-6 hours later, you’ll want to wash off the solution. You’ll notice your skin starts peeling about one to three days after treatment. Allow it to peel naturally and reveal the beautiful, radiant skin you deserve.

How often you receive a VI Peel depends on your goals and the condition of your skin. You’ll want to wait at least 4-6 weeks between peels so your skin has plenty of time to heal.

What To Do After A VI Peel

You may have to wait up to six hours for the VI Peel to fully dry on your skin. As mentioned above, you’ll then wash off the VI solution. Peeling usually occurs within 24-72 hours of the treatment.

As the treatment takes effect, you’ll want to avoid excess sun exposure, direct heat, and strenuous activity that may cause sweating for the first 48 hours. You’ll also want to regularly apply sunscreen once you wash off the VI peel solution to ensure your skin is protected.
