Sometimes called an “eyebrow perm,” brow lamination is a cosmetic procedure that can help to tame wild, unruly brows or create a shape that mimics fullness in thinner brows. This is an amazing procedure to create a brow shape that frames the faces in a more proportional and flattering way. As an added bonus, brow lamination can cut down the amount of time it takes for you to get ready in the morning. Birmingham Cosmetic Surgery Center offers brow lamination services to help you achieve the brows of your dreams.
What is Brow Lamination?
Brow lamination is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that offers itself as a great alternative to more invasive brow shaping treatments like microblading. Using a cream, very similar to the one used to perm hair, your provider will brush your brows into shape and then freeze them in their position. The result is a shiny smooth brow that stays in place all through the day, night, then all over again.

Meet Dr. RifaiBrow Lamination Procedure
Brow lamination is a pretty straightforward procedure, with the whole process taking only around 15-20 minutes. Once you are comfortably settled in the chair, your provider will clean the brows and surrounding areas to ensure they are free of makeup, dirt, and oils. Next, they will apply a relaxing cream to the brows to make the hair more pliable. Sometimes plastic wrap is added over the brows to speed up the process.
After sitting for around five minutes, the relaxing cream is removed, and a neutralizing cream is applied. During this step, your provider will brush the hair into your desired brow shape using a spoolie. This cream sets the hair in its new shape by reversing the effects of the relaxing cream. After sitting for an additional few minutes, the neutralizing cream is removed, and finishing touches like trimming or tweezing the brows are done.
Who is a Good Candidate for Brow Lamination?
Brow lamination is a great way to enhance the shape and fullness of your brows, whether they are naturally thick or thin, without committing to permanent brow shaping procedures like microblading. Brow lamination is a great option for people looking to simplify their getting routines, as it eliminates the steps of having to brush, fill in, and fidget with your brows.
The convenience of not having to style your brows should not be mistaken for being a low-maintenance treatment. The results are only semi-permanent so multiple treatments are required. A change in your skincare products may also be required as it is recommended that you use an oil to keep your brows hydrated.
Brow lamination does include the use of powerful chemicals that could irritate the skin. If you’re prone to skin sensitivity, brow lamination may not be right for you.
What Our Patients Say
After Brow Lamination
When your provider finishes your lamination treatment, they will apply a nourishing conditioner composed of hydrating keratin to the brows. This will help to keep the brows healthy, as the treatment can be quite drying. Just like a regular perm, you should not wet the brows for at least 24 hours after lamination to make sure the effects last.
